We have been lobbying P&R to provide us additional indoor time during the winter. We are very happy to announce that P&R has granted us Friday’s at Hargraves from 9:30am – 1:30pm for pickleball.
This overlaps our existing pickleball play time on Friday mornings at the Community Center. We have had lots of requests for dedicated beginner to intermediate play, so we are going to try facilitate this by emphasizing different play levels at the two venues.
Hargraves will listed as recreational play for “beginner/intermediate”. We will offer developing player training there every other Friday at 9:30am (watch for emails on the CHPB beginning players listserv (signup on the website, http://www.chapelhillpickleball.org/connecting-with-other-players/). The Community Center will still have open play, with the suggested level of “intermediate/advanced” play.
We hope that this will provide players a chance to play with people at their similar level, and do so on all three courts at a facility. This will continue until March when the Friday morning league starts back up. We’ll seek your feedback on how this has worked in March.
