Chapel Hill Pickleball Community,
It’s time again for CHPB Steering Committee elections! We are accepting nominations for new Chapel Hill Pickleball Steering Committee members. Four steering committee members are rolling off, so the election will be to select four new people to join the steering committee.
Full description of steering committee:
The Chapel Hill Pickleball Steering Committee meets 3-4 times a year, and helps advise the town’s Parks and Recreation staff on programming for pickleball courts on town facilities as well
as court use policies. The committee also helps develop new programs and provides outreach for all members of the pickleball community. Elections occur annually, and new members are appointed to 2 year terms. The Steering Committee consists of the 7 elected Committee members from the Chapel Hill Pickleball community, plus the USAPA ambassadors. Ex-officio members include a Parks and Recreation representative and former USAPA ambassadors (these are non-voting positions). Ideal Committee members would be excellent representatives of the local pickleball community, good at listening to the community’s needs and capable of working cooperatively to help create a positive playing environment. Committee members are the on-court representatives of our pickleball community. It is ideal if our collection of members is diverse in representing different experience levels, ages, and times/places of play in Chapel Hill.
To nominate someone please email Brad Hemminger (bmh@ils.unc.edu) the name of the person you wish to nominate (a brief explanation is helpful); include their contact information (email) if you know it. You can nominate yourself.
Please submit your nomination(s) by Wednesday, May 16th.
