We have been working closely with the Chapel Hill Parks and Rec. and the Greenways Committee on a Shared Use Proposal of 2 of the Ephesus Tennis Courts. On Tuesday evening, there is a Greenways, Parks & Rec., Commission board meeting that is open to the public. We should like to solicit your participation on the call to help us show the Town of Chapel Hill the level of support and the number of active and engaged Pickleball Players we have in Chapel Hill and our need for more venues and courts. Below are the specific details and some background information.
Our Proposal: Shared Use of 2 Ephesus Tennis Courts for Pickleball
High Level Details:
1. Line Tennis Courts 3 & 4 for 4-6 Pickleball. Courts.
2. Purchase and fund 4-6 Nets & possibly a storage box for our equipment.
3. Pickleball would be responsible for putting up and taking down our equipment for the shared use courts.
4. Share the hours based upon a mutually agreed upon schedule 50/50 with Tennis.
5. This would be pilot program to see how this works, with expected review by Parks & Rec.
Below are the links to both our proposal and the tennis response. Take a deep breath when reading the Tennis response, since many of the statements are false and untrue. The links are courtesy of Chapel Hill Tennis 🙂
