Pickleball Athletes
I’d like to take this chance to say “hello” to all the Pickleball Players in the Chapel Hill and surrounding areas. As you’ve probably heard, I’m the new USAPA ambassador for our area. I’m filling Jim Wilson’s spot, who is “retiring” from being Ambassador, but not from playing and helping contribute to pickleball in this area! I am lucky to have worked closely with Jim during the past year, and benefit greatly from Jim’s and JB Marr’s experience. I look forward to working closely with JB to help build our pickleball community!
As many of you know, some of my first steps in supporting pickleball here was the Ephesus outdoor pickleball courts, the ladder league play, and the morning training sessions. I have a number of other areas I’m excited about including training programs for all levels (including youth), getting us additional courts, improving our organization through more diversity in representation, and better communication with our members. Most importantly, we want to make sure we hear everyone’s voice, and give you a chance to volunteer to help. Stay tuned for announcements about these things.
